Dr. Laufer Rudolf is the owner, operator and software developer of Pharm Academy. The establishment of a company intended to support the project’s long-term operation is in progress, with operations expected to begin in January 2027.
Hereinafter: the “Service Provider”.
2. Scope and acceptance of the Terms
These Terms of Use apply to the use of the pharm.academy website and its associated educational, practice, question management, feedback and attendance functions.
By registering, the user declares that they have read, understood and accept these Terms. The version currently in force is continuously available on the website.
3. Purpose of the service
pharm.academy is a digital service for education and self-assessment. The website may provide, among others, the following functions:
- display of pharmacology and other health science learning materials, concepts and questions;
- single-choice, multiple-choice, true–false and four-way association tasks, as well as mixed question sets;
- recording of answers, results and practice history supported by the particular function;
- selection of content associated with an institution, university, faculty or subject;
- submission of question suggestions and error reports;
- permission-based institutional question management, question-related feedback, assessment preparation and review of results;
- Viginti: instructor-led group question answering, aggregation of results and, depending on the settings, rankings;
- recording of attendance at events or teaching sessions.
The Service Provider may develop, modify, temporarily restrict or discontinue functions. Where possible, advance notice will be given of significant changes that adversely affect users.
The availability of individual functions depends on the completion and language of the content, the user’s permissions and institutional settings. This list does not mean that every function is available to every user and in every language.
4. Registration and user account
Some content may be available without registration, while personalised learning, testing and partner functions may require a user account.
The user must provide their own valid and up-to-date email address, keep their account password confidential and promptly report any unauthorised access they notice. An account may only be used by its authorised user.
The username must not be misleading, unlawful, infringe another person’s rights or endanger the security of the service. The Service Provider may request a change of username where justified.
Registration may require activation by email. Unactivated or clearly abusive registrations may be deleted.
5. Language and institutional profile information
The preferred language, country, university and faculty provided during registration support personalisation of the service and management of institution-specific content and future permissions.
If a country, university or faculty is not yet listed, the user may provide its official name. The Service Provider may use information collected in this way in aggregate form to assess student demand and prepare institutional cooperation. In such enquiries, the Service Provider does not disclose students’ names, email addresses, Neptun codes or other individual identifiers to the institution.
With standard individual registration, users may subsequently change their institutional information. For partner-institution, verified or bulk registration, some fields may be locked and changes may require administrative verification.
Learning materials and questions are available in the versions completed in the relevant language; content coverage may differ between language versions. Providing institutional profile information does not in itself grant instructor or institutional management permissions: these require separate authorisation.
6. Educational nature and professional responsibility
The website’s content is intended for education, practice and self-assessment. It does not constitute medical, pharmaceutical, diagnostic or therapeutic advice and does not replace official university learning materials, instructor guidance, summaries of product characteristics, professional protocols or individual patient-care decisions.
The Service Provider strives to professionally review and improve the content but does not guarantee that all information is complete, error-free or up to date at all times. Clinical or professional decisions must be based exclusively on verified, official and current sources.
Test results and performance indicators displayed on the website are self-assessment data; they do not in themselves constitute official examination results, qualifications or professional authorisation, unless a separate written agreement with a partner institution provides otherwise.
7. User content, question suggestions and feedback
Users may submit only questions, answer options, explanations, comments or other content that they are entitled to use and that do not infringe a third party’s copyright, personality rights or other rights.
When submitting a question suggestion, the user may, in accordance with the separate declaration displayed on the submission interface, authorise the Service Provider to use, edit, translate, supplement, convert into another task type and use the submitted question, answer options and comments to develop the service, free of charge.
Users must not upload patient data, healthcare documents, health data relating to an identifiable person or other unnecessary special categories of personal data.
8. Attendance function and Viginti
The attendance function may operate using a single-use token or QR code associated with an event or teaching session. Users must provide their own identifier and must not record attendance on behalf of another person.
The organiser may set additional conditions for fulfilling attendance requirements linked to Viginti, such as answering a prescribed number of questions. Providing an identifier or joining does not in itself fulfil these conditions. Acceptance of answers may also be limited by the session’s time window and whether the question is active.
Users must not share a joining token or individual access link with others. In the event of incorrect identification, technical problems or a disputed attendance result, they may contact the event organiser or the Service Provider.
Official institutional use of attendance data may take place only under the event organiser’s rules and the agreement with the institution concerned.
9. Prohibited use
In particular, the following are prohibited:
- using another person’s account or recording attendance on behalf of another person;
- unauthorised access to the website, database or another user’s account;
- automated data collection, bulk copying or republication of content without permission;
- submission of malicious code or misleading or unlawful content;
- circumvention of tests, tokens, permissions or security restrictions;
- disruption of the service or imposing a disproportionate load on it.
10. Copyright and permission to use content
The website’s own texts, questions, task structures, databases, graphical elements and program code may be protected by copyright or other legal rights. Use of the service does not transfer ownership or grant unlimited rights of use.
Users may use the content for their own learning. Commercial use, bulk copying, compilation into databases, sale or public distribution is permitted only with prior written permission.
11. Availability, saving data and technical errors
The Service Provider strives to ensure continuous and secure operation; however, temporary outages may occur due to maintenance, network failures, failures of external service providers or events beyond control.
The ability to save and resume depends on the particular function. Only an answer or save confirmed by the system can be regarded as recorded; retention of an answer that has been started but not submitted is not guaranteed. In the event of a technical error, users should report the session or task concerned and the time of the error, without sending passwords or access tokens.
Problems with the user’s device or internet connection may affect operation. This does not affect the Service Provider’s statutory liability.
12. Account restriction and termination
The Service Provider may temporarily restrict or terminate an account if the user breaches these Terms, the rights of others or the security of the service, or if required by law or an order of an authority. Except in urgent security cases, the Service Provider will, where possible, provide notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue.
Users may request termination of their account. Termination does not automatically result in the immediate deletion of all data where retention is necessary due to a legal obligation, legal claim, security incident, partner-institution attendance records or another appropriate legal basis. Details are provided in the Privacy Notice.
13. Fees and future paid services
This version does not create a subscription or payment obligation. Paid or subscription services may become available no earlier than after the planned company begins operations in January 2027. Before their introduction, the Service Provider will provide separate and clear information on prices, duration, renewal, cancellation, consumer rights and the payment service provider, and will update these Terms.
14. Liability
The Service Provider is liable for the service within the framework of applicable law. It is not liable for damage arising from use of the website outside its educational purpose, unverified professional decisions, user error, unauthorised account use or events outside the Service Provider’s control.
This provision does not limit liability that cannot be excluded by law or statutory consumer rights.
15. Data processing
Details of personal data processing are provided in the Privacy Notice. Information on cookies and similar technologies is provided in the Cookie Policy available in the website’s footer.
Acceptance of these Terms does not constitute consent to non-essential statistical or marketing cookies; choices regarding these are made separately through the cookie consent interface.
16. Changes to the Terms
The Service Provider may amend these Terms due to changes in legislation, new functions, security requirements or significant changes to the service. The version and effective date are displayed at the top of the document. In the event of significant amendments, registered users will be notified on the website or by email, and renewed acceptance will be requested where necessary.
17. Governing law and complaint handling
These Terms are governed by Hungarian law; this does not deprive consumers of the protection afforded by mandatory legal provisions applicable to them.
Users may submit complaints to education@pharm.academy or by post to the Service Provider’s registered address. The Service Provider will provide a substantive written response to a consumer’s written complaint within thirty days of receipt, unless applicable law prescribes a different time limit.
The parties seek to resolve disputes amicably, but contacting the Service Provider beforehand is not a prerequisite for exercising statutory remedies. Under the applicable rules, consumers may approach a conciliation body, a consumer protection authority or a court. If a complaint is rejected, the Service Provider will provide the information on available remedies required by applicable law.
