Hereinafter referred to as the “Service Provider”.
2. Scope and acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Use apply to the use of the pharm.academy website and the educational, practice, question-management, feedback and attendance features connected to it.
By registering, the user declares that they have read, understood and accepted these Terms. The version currently in force is continuously available on the website.
3. Purpose of the service
pharm.academy is a digital service for education and self-assessment. The website may provide, among other things, the following features:
- displaying pharmacology and other health sciences learning materials, concepts and questions;
- single-choice, true-or-false, four-way association and mixed question sets;
- storing solutions, results, progress and practice history;
- selecting content related to an institution, university, faculty or subject;
- submitting question suggestions and error reports;
- partner-institution and educator functions;
- recording attendance connected to events or teaching sessions.
The Service Provider may develop, modify, temporarily restrict or discontinue features. Where possible, it will give advance notice of a material change that adversely affects users.
4. Registration and user accounts
Some content may be available without registration, while personalised learning, testing and partner functions may require a user account.
The user must provide a valid, personal and up-to-date email address, keep the password associated with the account confidential, and report any suspected unauthorised access without delay. An account may be used only by its authorised user.
A username may not be misleading, unlawful, infringe another person’s rights or endanger the security of the service. The Service Provider may require a username to be changed where justified.
Registration may be subject to email activation. Registrations that remain unactivated or are clearly abusive may be deleted.
5. Language and institutional profile data
The preferred language, country, university and faculty provided during registration help personalise the service and manage institution-specific content, functions and future permissions.
If a country, university or faculty is not yet listed, the user may enter its official name. The Service Provider may use the resulting information in aggregated form to assess student demand and prepare institutional partnerships. For such outreach, the Service Provider will not disclose students’ names, email addresses, Neptun codes or other individual identifiers to the institution.
For a standard individual registration, the user may later modify institutional data. For partner-institution, verified or bulk registrations, certain fields may be locked and changes may be subject to administrative review.
6. Educational nature and professional responsibility
The website content is intended for education, practice and self-assessment. It does not constitute medical, pharmaceutical, diagnostic or therapeutic advice and does not replace official university materials, instructions from educators, summaries of product characteristics, professional protocols or decisions concerning individual patient care.
The Service Provider endeavours to review and correct the content professionally, but does not guarantee that all information is complete, error-free or up to date at all times. Clinical or professional decisions must be based exclusively on verified, official and current sources.
Test results and performance indicators displayed on the website are self-assessment data. They do not by themselves constitute an official examination result, qualification or professional entitlement unless a separate written partner-institution agreement expressly provides otherwise.
7. User content, question suggestions and feedback
A user may submit only questions, answer options, explanations, comments or other content that they are entitled to use and that does not infringe any third party’s copyright, personality rights or other rights.
When submitting a question suggestion, the user may authorise the Service Provider, in accordance with the separate declaration displayed on the submission interface, to use, edit, translate, supplement, convert into other exercise types and otherwise use the submitted question, answer options and comments for developing the service, free of charge.
Users must not upload patient data, medical records, health data relating to an identifiable person or other unnecessary special-category personal data.
8. Attendance feature
The attendance feature may operate with a single-use token or QR code linked to an event or teaching session. Users must provide their own identifier and may not record attendance on behalf of another person.
Attendance data may be used officially by an institution only in accordance with the event organiser’s rules and an agreement with the institution concerned.
9. Prohibited use
In particular, users must not:
- use another person’s account or record attendance on behalf of another person;
- access the website, database or another user account without authorisation;
- collect data automatically, copy content in bulk or republish content without permission;
- submit malicious code, misleading material or unlawful content;
- circumvent tests, tokens, permissions or security restrictions;
- disrupt the service or impose a disproportionate load on it.
10. Copyright and licence to use
The website’s original texts, questions, exercise structures, databases, graphic elements and source code may be protected by copyright or other rights. Use of the service does not transfer ownership or an unrestricted right of use.
Users may use the content for their own learning. Commercial use, bulk copying, compilation into a database, sale or public distribution requires prior written permission.
11. Availability, backups and technical errors
The Service Provider endeavours to ensure continuous and secure operation, but temporary outages may occur because of maintenance, network failure, failure of an external provider or an event beyond reasonable control.
Quiz saving and resume features reduce the risk of data loss, but the Service Provider is not responsible for the error-free operation of the user’s internet connection or device.
12. Account restriction and termination
The Service Provider may temporarily restrict or terminate an account if the user breaches these Terms, infringes the rights of others, endangers the security of the service, or if required by law or an authority. Except in urgent security cases, the Service Provider will, where possible, provide notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue.
The user may request termination of their account. Termination does not automatically result in the immediate deletion of all data where retention is required because of a legal obligation, legal claim, security incident, partner-institution attendance record or another appropriate legal basis. Details are set out in the Privacy Notice.
13. Fees and future paid services
This version does not create an automatic subscription or payment obligation. If the Service Provider later introduces paid or subscription features, it will provide separate and clear information before purchase about pricing, duration, renewal, cancellation, consumer rights and the payment provider, and will amend these Terms where necessary.
14. Liability
The Service Provider is responsible for the service within the limits of applicable law. It is not liable for loss arising from use inconsistent with the website’s educational purpose, an unverified professional decision, user error, unauthorised account use or an event outside the Service Provider’s control.
This provision does not limit liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Data processing
Details of personal data processing are provided in the Privacy Notice.
16. Amendments to these Terms
The Service Provider may amend these Terms because of changes in law, new features, security requirements or a material change to the service. The version and effective date are displayed at the top of the document. In the event of a material amendment, registered users will be informed on the website or by email and, where necessary, will be asked to accept the amended Terms again.
17. Governing law and complaints
These Terms are governed by Hungarian law. Users may first submit a complaint to education@pharm.academy. The parties will seek to resolve disputes amicably. Users retain all remedies available under applicable consumer protection law and through the courts.
